La Donna Fair- my impressions (picture heavy!)

I had the opportunity to go to the "La Donna" fair here in the "Wiener Stadthalle". The fair is for women, where they exhibit cosmetics, clothing, accessories and a few other this. The fair is still open till Sunday (October 2nd).
I met up with a few other bloggers (coral and mauve, Kirschblüte's Blog, lovely shared secrets and Eibhlin from wien mitte)  and first we went to a little lecture about baking without sugar and they brought some examples and samples. The lecture was ok, nothing mind-blowing in my opinion but what I liked best is, that he included some recipes where you can use stevia and eristar to bake cakes. The recipes are in German, but I think there are english recipes floating around on the internet ;).

Ich hatte die Gelegenheit, die "La Donna" Messe in der Wiener Stadthalle zu besuchen. Die Messe ist nur für Frauen, wo  Kosmetik, Kleidung, Accessoires und ein paar andere Sachen ausgestellt wird. Sie ist ürbigens noch bis morgen, Sonntag (2.Oktober) geöffnet, falls wer reinschauen will.
Ich hab mich mit ein paar anderen Bloggerinnen (coral and mauve, Kirschblüte's Blog, lovely shared secrets und Eibhlin von wien mitte) getroffen und wir gingen zuerst zum Vortrag "Backen ohne Zucker mit Beispielen und Kostproben". Der Vortrag war ganz in Ordnung, meiner Meinung nach nichts weltbewegendes. Was ich aber gut fand, war, dass der Vortagende in seiner Power-Point Präsentation Rezepte miteingebaut hat, wo man Stevia und Eristar fürs backen von Kuchen bentuzen kann.

After the lecture we went to the exhibition hall. The aisles were pretty small and some booths were packed full with things that the orientation there was rather chaotic (or at least that was my impression of it). You had to make your way through the people. Another thing we came to conclusion is, that we weren't really the target group for this fair- most of the women were in their mid-30ies, or even older, where all of us are in our 20ies.

Nach dem Vortrag gingen wir zur Ausstellungshalle. Die Gänge waren ziemlich schmal und manche Stände waren vollgepackt mit Dingen, was mir den Eindruck vom Chaos vermittelt. Man musste sich teilweise durch die Menschen durchschlängeln und wir haben auch bemerkt, dass wir nicht wirklich die Zielgruppe sind. Die meisten Frauen waren in den 30ern oder älter, wohingegen wir in unseren 20ern sind.

There was a Konad-booth too but the tings were overpriced (7€, approx. 9US$ for a stamping plate).

Es gab dort auch einen Stand mit Konad Sachen, wo die Schablonen überteuert waren (eine Schablone kostete 7€).

Overall the fair wasn't really our thing- the things they exhibited were not really for us (they even had a few booths where they sell kitchen accesoires from the teleshopping channel) and I probably would not have been a happy camper if I had to pay the full ticket price.

Alles in allem fand ich die Messe recht langweilig. Zu einem Teil, weil es nicht unsere Zielgruppe war, zum anderen waren es auch teilweise die Stände dort, die recht bizarr sind (es gab einige Stände, wo sie Sachen aus den Dauerwerbesendungen verkauft haben). Ich wäre sicherlich nicht sehr erfreut gewesen, wenn ich auch noch den Eintritt bezahlt hätte.
