How about some spam?

Who doesn't like some nail spam? Well, I always enjoy looking through them and hope you'll enjoy it too :)

Catrice Be Pool, not an extradordinary color, so won't be that sad as it is a limited Edition (2 coats)
Catrice Be Pool, mMn keine sehr außergewöhnliche Farbe, also bin ich nicht sehr traurig drüber, da es eine limierte Farbe ist (auf dem Bild sinds 2 Schichten)
A "Frankenfail" it started crackling while it dried :( (as seen on my ringfinger). Used  a matte topcoat and a gorgeous cobalt blue pigment, I believe this was 2 coats
Basic Bankok: a medium-toned green, a little bit more leaning towards blue in person, 1 coat
Tetris Nails: I used Nail Art Pens in sharpie-form from Essence and P2 (the ones by P2 are discontinued by now :( ) and the green, yellow and red stamping polishes by Konad.
Orly Gumdrop topped with Essence Circus Confetti and Deborah Lippmann Happy Birthday on my ringfinger
Orly Gumdrop als Basislack mit Essence Circus Confetti und Deborah Lippmann Happy Birthday am Ringfinger

And last but not least, a little sneack peak in form of nail polish bottles :)

China Glaze Ruby Pumps and Ruby Red Slippers

The last time I wore Ruby Red Slippers, I was quite unimpressed by it. This time I did something different and tried layering it. Much much better. So this time I used a coat of a black creme, China Glaze Ruby Pumps and RRS (RRS only on my ring finger tough).

Happy Birthday vs. Circus Confetti

I've already shown you Happy Birthday in my last post. And when I spotted the new Essence display, I also bought one of their new Nail Art Special Effect Topper, which has multicolored hex-glitters in it. So here's a quick swatch on a nailwheel to compare these two:

Circus Confetti on the left, Happy Birthday on the right
Now, to the differences:
Circus Confetti
  • the brush of CC is wider and "thicker" which makes it a tad harder to apply because the hex-glitter gets caught between the brush bristles
  • formula-wise it's thicker than its (expensive) sibling
  • there's less glitter in CC and the little sized glitter is smaller and sparser than HB
  • "middle" sized hex glitter- there are few, sparse glitter which are neither as big as the big hex-glitter, nor as big as the small sized one
  • there is more magenta hex- glitter but less silver
Happy Birthday
  • there's more square-sized glitter
To be honest, I really like both but if you are in one of the many countries which carry Essence, I would probably pass on the Lippmann because it's 10 times the price (~2€ compared to 20€, that's how much the Lippmann cost here).

Deborah Lippmann Happy Birthday

You know I love hex-glitter, right? Well, this one's another winner. Happy Birthday is a fun hex-glitter wich are silver, green, blue, gold and pink colored. It really is a "party in a bottle" and I love how it looks over a white creme.

Deborah Lippmann Lady Sings the Blues

Hey there :)

You probably have noticed, that I've got a weakness for hex-glitters. So I knew I had to have Lady sings the Blues by Deborah Lippmann and when I had the oppportunity to swap this (and others) with the generous mrsrexy.
LstB is a dark blue with jelly-like qualities so the silver hex glitter in it can still peak through and give it an depth. I used two coats on this polish and it applied good, you have to be a bit carefull tough, because the hex-glitter can get in between the brush-hair and that'll make the application a bit difficult.

and here's a blurry picture to show the depth (you can click on it to make it larger :) )

Deborah Lippmann Ruby Red Slippers

Hey there :)

So this is another one of the polishes from my swap with mrs.sexy from Canadian Nail Fanatic. Ruby Red Slippers is a gorgeous polish with red hex-glitter and smaller reglar glitter in a black jelly base. I layered it over a  random black base. The result wasn't as breathtaking as I thought I would but I'd probably layer it over another polish the next time I wear it.
One coat of RRS over a coat of black:

(please excuse the tipwear on this last picture, it was the only chance to get some decent sunlight pictures)

Deborah Lippmann Across the Universe aka we need more Hex-glitter Polishes

Hey there :)

I love Hex-Glitters and when I first saw swatches/bottle pictures of this one, I knew I had to have this polish. Through a swap with the lovely mrs.sexy over at Canadia Nail Fanatic I got my bottle and a few other goodies.
Across the Universe is a dark blue base with blue and green hex-glitter. There are also smaller sized glitter in it and thanks to the jelly base the glitter still shows up and isn't fully covered by the opacity of the base.
I used 2 coats of this awesome polish.
