Quick post: Orly Meet me under the Mistletoe

Mmmmhhh, who doesn’t like a good green with glassflecks*? I know I do and got this one a while ago (from their Holiday 2010 collection, whoa, time flies).
Anyway, this is a beautiful forest green with gold glass flecks. The glass fleck looks multi-chrome in the bottle but the effect isn’t as visible on the nail. I believe I used two coats and didn’t had any issues with the formula. The brush was nice too.

*obviously if you’re not into greens and/or glassflecks ;)

A glassflecked unnamed Franken

It’s been a while since I showed you one of my frankens. I made this one during a Frankenparty with three lovely ladies(if you read this, you know who you are :-) ) and had lots of fun!
The polish looks divine in the bottle- a teal packed with glassflecks that shifts from magenta to blue. The duochrome effect of the glassflecks was really hard to capture with my camera (I might try to wear it again using the underwater-trick to fotograph).
One of the downside is that I’ve probably put too much pigment in it and only the blue pigment (mixed blue and green together to get the color teal) seems to stay suspended in the base and the rest (green pigment+ glassflecks) sinks to the bottom.
I used two coats and didn’t had any issues.
Do you have any names for it? I haven’t come up with any great ones, maybe you can think of one :).

Urban Oasis with a Spectrum

Here's another layering-mani I did. This time with CND Urban Oasis, a one coat wonder and Sally Hansen Spectrum, which I got in a swap with the lovely BeautyJudy. I used one coat of each polish and both have a great formula and brush. Spectrum is a Turquoise glass fleck polish with purple and blue duo-chrome.

The two Rimmels and Sally Hansen Purple Pizzazz

Hey there :)

Wow, so tomorrow's New Years Eveand another year is over. Looking back at it, I'm glad it's over but I don't have many resolutions but a low-buy is surely in order because I bought way to many polishes (or things in general) and my untrieds-stash is growing bigger and bigger. I don't have much planed for NYE and I hope you'll have a great day tomorrow :)

 Back to polish:
As I showed you in the first post the comparison of the two Rimmels, I decided to layer it with Purple Pizzaz I got from my swap with the awesome Jackie.

I layered one coat over it and boy, it was mesmerizing. I couldn't stop staring at it and the shimmer from Blue me Away was peeking through at some angles. There are glass flecks in Purple Pizzaz which you can see up close.

Essence Choose Me vs. Zoya Charla

Hey there :)

I know, you might have seen a lot of comparisons of these, but I did them quite a while ago and didn't have time to post them earlier.
Essence Choose Me was released this October due to the display change they do every spring&fall. I love that Essence has matching handles, makes it easier to locate the bottle in my drawer ;).
The formula & brush was good, but it took me 4 coats to be opaque. Zoya's Charla, on the other hand was opaque with ony two coats and looks a tad bluer in my eyes but a non-polish addict won't spot the difference. I didn't have a problem with Zoya's brush or fomula either. Somehow this polish looks mostly more green on me, a lot of other swatches show the blue-side of it.
A little waning: these two polishes will stain your nails, so don't forget a proper basecoat/ nail whitener.

My verdict: I really like both but due to the sheerness of Choose Me, I prefer Charla a bit more. I think I might franken with Choose Me, but have no idea yet (if you have suggestions, you can write them in the comments :) )

H&M swatches spam and comparisons

Hey there

So today I'll show you a lot of swatches- first up, My Favourite Jeans.

It's a dark blue semi-foil with glass flecks. I used three coats. I quite like it but the formula was a bit weird.

Moonless Night- a black with dark silver shimmer. It's one of those where you only see the shimmer in direct sunlight, so it was harder to photograph. It tooke me two coats to reach opacity.
Here one with flash and after swatching it, I had something similar in my stash, Catrice Back to Black, so I did this comparison:
The same "hidden" shimmer in the bottle, let's see what the flash pic has to reveal:
Yep, definitly dupes- Back to Black was almost opaque in one coat, but you'll get better results with two, which I used for the pictures.

Fashionista- a vibrant purple, almost a frost finish
Imagine it a bit less blue. It also dried really quickly, probably the the fastest of the bunch. It took me two coats to be opaque.
Next up, Godess on Stage.
Godess on Stage is a dark eggplant purple, which sadly, is a lot darker on the nail than in the bottle.I really love the shimmer in the bottle which can probably only be seen in direct sunlight. In lower lights this one surely will look almost-black but I don't think it's a big issue because I know how beautiful it can be in sunlight :)
I used two coats
Now, some lighter shaades....
U must have this- A gorgeous blue creme, two coats to reach opacity.
Next- a comparison: Essence The World's Coolest, Orly Gumdrop, H&M Bellas Choice and Artdeco #93
The World's Coolest was a bit watery, almost jelly-like formula. I used three coats.
Gumdrop was almost opaque in one coat, it is a bit "dustier" than all the other polishes in this comparison.
Bellas Choice is the greenest/most turquoise one, it was almost opaque in one coat.
Artdeco #93 is the bluest of the bunch and was like Gumdrop& BC almost opaque in one coat.

And now the last comparison, betwen Essie Mesmerize, H&M Blue my Mind and P2 Gigantic

Mesmerize is, not like his name, the darkest one. I was quite dissapointed in it because when I first saw the swatches, it was brighter and had a neon-touch in it. On the nail& in the bottle? Not so much. I used two coats.
Blue my Mind- a beautiful creme blue. The formula was ok and  took two coats to be opaque.
Gigantic is what I imagined, Mesmerize would be- a bright, azure blue. It's my favourite in this comparison and took only two coats to be opaque.
