Some more display pictures (long post)

I found a few displays with limited editions while I was searching for the new Catrice LE (Million Styles). While I didn't find it, I did find a few others.

I found another Alessandro display. The limited edition is called Metallic Crash. It's another crackle collection, this time with "metallic crackles". A set contains a white base, a crackle polish and a top coat- each bottle contains 5ml and retails for 14.95€ (at the Müller store).
This is the third LE display from Alessandro for this month and somehow I'm not liking it. So many limited editions in such a short time are overwhelming and if you would really like to buy something from it, you'd have to stalk your stores in order to get it.

The colors are (from left to right) pink, metallic blue, red and silver./ Die Farben von links nach rechts: Rosa, Blau, Rot und Silber

Next up is a brand I mostly overlook because their products often don't appeal to me when I look at their display. They do have a few nice things but not that special that I would buy them right away.
Anyway, Misslyn released a new limited edition called Peacock and apparently the SA put some of the polishes into the wrong display. The polishes caught my eye (or shall I say Good Lack, Nails eyes, when we were at the Müller drugstore together) and snapped a picture of the display without realizing that the polishes were put into the wrong display.
In the display is a Chanel Peridot dupe with the number 722 called Chameleon, more on that, later on.
Each nail polish retails for 4,95€ at the Müller drugstore.

sorry about the crappy quality, the aisle was crowded couildn't get a better picture/Tut mir leid, dass die Qualität so schlecht ist, der Gang war voller Menschen und konnte kein besseres Bild daovn machen.

And the last display picture in this post is a new limited edition by Artdeco called Magic Shine. It contains ten nail polishes and four lipsticks. The colors seemed quite boring to me as I'm not in their main target group. The only intresting thing from there are two duochrome polishes and one of them is really close to the infamous Chanel Peridot.
Each nail polish retails for 7,39€ and the lip sticks are 13,49€ at the Müller drugstore.

If you made it this far, kudos to you ;)
As I hinted earlier, there seem to be a lot of Peridot dupes/dupe-ish colors and I was able to compare (most of) the bottles next to each other.

227 and 226 from the Artdeco Magic Shine display/227 und 226 vom Magic Shine Aufsteller von Artdeco
As you can see, the base color in Artdeco #226 is more copper-y compared to Artdeco #227.

In the picture below, you can see that I  compared 227 with Catrice's Genius in a Bottle(GiaB). Like Artdeco #226, the base color in GiaB is warmer than #227.

Artdeco 227 on the left, Genious in a Bottle on the right/ Artdeco 227 links, Catrice Genius in a Bottle rechts

And a little group shot- from left to right: Catrice GiaB, Artdeco 227, Chanel Peridot, Artdeco 226. You can see that Artdeco 227 is the closest to Peridot whereas the other two aren't close to "the original".

And last but not least, a group show with Misslyn #722 Chameleon, Chanel Peridot and Artdeco #227, featuring Good Lack, Nail's Hand ;).
This picture is not the best but I could not tell a difference between the three of them. It might look like that Artdeco #227 is a tad darker in the bottle but in person I wasn't able to spot a difference. The different bottle shapes might make it harder to compare as some have a thicker/thinner glass or are more rounded so you can see the duochrome better.

More new displays

Here some new recent displays (all spottet at the drugstore Müller)
First, the Manhattan Hands Up! LE. I think this might be the first "nail polish only" limited edition by them (or at least for a long time, I haven't followed their LE since the two years I've been addicted to nail polish). It features 20 nail polishes and there's even one called "Do you Twitter?". Sadly, the names are only written on the cardboard and not on the handle- the handle only has the number written on it.

LE.

Next up, the All about Lacquers Limited Edition by Artdeco. I wasn't really wowed by the preview of this LE and am still not after seeing it in person. Anyway, there are also a few lipglosses in this LE, which are behind the nail polishes.

Some recent displays

*I saw/took the pictures at the Müller-drugstore, the only which wasn't taken there was the one by s-he stylezone. It was taken at DM*

While I went on my lookout for new displays, I sutmbled across a new one by Artdeco. Artdeco is famous for its eyeshadow base here and I think I heard that it's sold at Sephora in the US (I could be wrong, so better don't quote me on that ;) ).
Their (annual? not sure) summer LE, called Aqua Glow Bronzing Collection. It has 6 polishes - 5 "meh" colors but one caught my eye- a duochrome. I just saw some swatches of it and the blogger was a bit dissapointed of it, so I'm glad I didn't buy it because it's rather expensive (9€= ~13us$). Anyway, here's the display

and two pictures of the duochrome which was hard to capture in the pictures as it isn't very strong
Next up, is a display by a brand called Misslyn. It is a brand widely sold in Germany as I never saw it here. I suspect this display is some kind of "test run" to see how well they sell and then decide if they're going to carry the line or not. The colors are kinda boring, nothing that hasn't been released before but the blue one caught my eye and I might buy it during their next sale.

And now to a rather strange display (or at least to me) with Heidi Klum as their spokesperson. I'm not a big fan of her as she is rather overpresented here (she hosts the german version of America's Next Topmodel, Germany's Next Topmodel and she is a spokesperson of a hairspray company who advertises too much for my taste)
Last but not least, a picture of an empty S-he Stylezone display. I found it funny because the SA filled the empty space with tissue boxes. S-He Stylezone is an austrian brand, sold exclusively at the DM drugstore and is coming out with a whole new range in May

Some recent displays and a paradoxal fever

Hey there :)

I recently spotted a few new or new to me displays and tought that I'd share them with you.

First up, the new Alessandro crackle polishes called "Royal Crash". Yeah, you've seen right, Alessandro jumped on the Crackle-wagon and I somehow have the feeling there are a lot of companies out there who got those. The set contains a base color (gold or silver, a black crackle and a topcoat, all for ~15€)
Next up, two other Alessandro displays, one from their new Dark Secret LE  and an (maybe) older one called Hypnotic (looks like a Chanel Particulière dupe to me ;) )

Last, but not least, two Artdeco displays- a huge one called Color Masterpiece and one containing another (Chanel) dupe (called Mystery Collection).
I really liked #123 and #127 but having a lot of blues and purples I might have dupes or similar shades (plus I didn't want to spend that much if I have something similar in my stash already).

I mentioned the "paradoxal fever" in my title- let's take a closer look to Artdeco #145 of their Mystery Collection:
I took the Chanel Paradoxal testerbottle and compared it to Artdeco #145. I couldn't tell a difference between the two.

H&M swatches spam and comparisons

Hey there

So today I'll show you a lot of swatches- first up, My Favourite Jeans.

It's a dark blue semi-foil with glass flecks. I used three coats. I quite like it but the formula was a bit weird.

Moonless Night- a black with dark silver shimmer. It's one of those where you only see the shimmer in direct sunlight, so it was harder to photograph. It tooke me two coats to reach opacity.
Here one with flash and after swatching it, I had something similar in my stash, Catrice Back to Black, so I did this comparison:
The same "hidden" shimmer in the bottle, let's see what the flash pic has to reveal:
Yep, definitly dupes- Back to Black was almost opaque in one coat, but you'll get better results with two, which I used for the pictures.

Fashionista- a vibrant purple, almost a frost finish
Imagine it a bit less blue. It also dried really quickly, probably the the fastest of the bunch. It took me two coats to be opaque.
Next up, Godess on Stage.
Godess on Stage is a dark eggplant purple, which sadly, is a lot darker on the nail than in the bottle.I really love the shimmer in the bottle which can probably only be seen in direct sunlight. In lower lights this one surely will look almost-black but I don't think it's a big issue because I know how beautiful it can be in sunlight :)
I used two coats
Now, some lighter shaades....
U must have this- A gorgeous blue creme, two coats to reach opacity.
Next- a comparison: Essence The World's Coolest, Orly Gumdrop, H&M Bellas Choice and Artdeco #93
The World's Coolest was a bit watery, almost jelly-like formula. I used three coats.
Gumdrop was almost opaque in one coat, it is a bit "dustier" than all the other polishes in this comparison.
Bellas Choice is the greenest/most turquoise one, it was almost opaque in one coat.
Artdeco #93 is the bluest of the bunch and was like Gumdrop& BC almost opaque in one coat.

And now the last comparison, betwen Essie Mesmerize, H&M Blue my Mind and P2 Gigantic

Mesmerize is, not like his name, the darkest one. I was quite dissapointed in it because when I first saw the swatches, it was brighter and had a neon-touch in it. On the nail& in the bottle? Not so much. I used two coats.
Blue my Mind- a beautiful creme blue. The formula was ok and  took two coats to be opaque.
Gigantic is what I imagined, Mesmerize would be- a bright, azure blue. It's my favourite in this comparison and took only two coats to be opaque.

In honor of the "great" weather here: Gunmetal/black with silver shimmer comparisons

Hey there :)

The weather here was really crappy- windy, raining in the evening and cold as it'll be winter. *grr*
I did these swatches a while ago when  the weather was better than it is now and I had nubbins. The polishes I used are:
  • Nubar Dark Castle (one awesome coat)
  • Zoya Raven (2 coats)
  • H&M Moonless Night (also two coats)
  • Alessandro No.279 (Be a Star LE, 2 coats)
  • Artdeco* No. 133 (2 coats)
* Artdeco is a German cosmetics brand.
I applied them in the same order as I wrote above-I didn't had any problems with either of these polishes- neither with their consistency nor the brushes. But I have to admit I love the brushes from Nubar and Artdeco the most- great handle and a wider brush which is soft but not too soft that you get too much laquer on the surounding skin.
Here are some previous swatches of Dark Castle if you missed them.
The color: Raven is the darkest with the slightest shimmer of all of them, next would probably Artdeco, Nubar and H&M. The Alessandro one was the lightest and more a dark silver than a black with shimmer/gunmetal. They only had the silver shimmer and I have to say: I love them, I can't get enough of them and still keep buying them ^^.
Bottlepics :D

(please excuse the pre-cleanup pics, it was just a quick swatch session)

I've got the blues....

Hey there :)

Today's post is about (some) of the blue varnishes I've got in my stash. It is a -somehow- comparison post because some are dupes or dupe-ish.
The polishes I used for my comparison are:
  • OPI - Yoga-ta to get this Blue
  • Artdeco - No. 44
  • Hard Candy - Mr. Right and
  • Catrice - It Blue my Mind
About the application: I didn't had any problems with the application of those. I liked the brush of the Catrice and OPI one best because they were wider.
The opacity: Only the Artdeco and Mr. Right needed a second coat- the rest were one-coaters(even though I can see a visible nail line in some parts of my pointer(painted with opi).
You can see in the pics that Mr. Right is the darkest amongst them; OPI,Artdeco and Catrice are quite dupe-ish and I think the next time I need to try it with 2 coats of the opi one. Catrice was only a tad lighter.

Now, onto some bottle Pics:
above: without flash, natural (indirect) sunlight
below: with flash; I love the Hard Candy ring!
I couldn't resist puting on the Hard Candy ring, sadly it only fitted my pinkie ^^ (I'm a size 8 kinda- girl ;) )

Zoya Ibiza vs. Artdeco No. 44

Long time no post- I know....
It's just the last weeks that I've been quite busy and I can't stop working or learning because I've got an test-marathon next week and after that I'm going on vacation for about 3 weeks.

As you probably see on today's topic I'm comparing these two colours. It seemed like dupes in the bottle but Ibiza is darker. The application on both polishes were nice and I didn't had much problems (just my not so good-application). The pictures show 2 coats each, no Top-Coat.

latest Haul

Hey there!

Today's post is about my latest haul. I also found one of four H&M Holo-polishes and the ones that carries them only sells them one at the time and not all at one time( I first saw the pink one, now the golden one, I hope, I can get the others). I also bought two Hello Kitty polishes because of their really cute bottles and the black one is really opaque which I never would have expected( I just swatched it on a piece of paper).
Do you still remember this post last month? Where I wrote a preview about some holo-polishes? Well, the Limited Edition's released now and I was really dissapointed in these because they( the polishes) just have a dull shimmer in it and aren't holographic. Photoshop was really a great friend of them :(
I just bought the silver polish of this collection(no. 290).
And last but not least there are three P2 polishes. P2 is an German/Austrian Brand and is sold in Germany(there in a drug store called "DM") and in one tiny store in Vienna(which is ridiculous because the polishes are produced in Wiener Neudorf, Austria). The polishes are from a Limited Edition called "What a Girl Wants".
So here are the pics:

Artdeco no. 140, Hello Kitty by H&M in Really Black, Artdeco 290

Hello Kitty by H&M in Wicked Purple, H&M in Moonless Night, H&M Creme de la creme

And here a comparison of Creme de la creme(CDLC) & China Glaze's Gr8

I couldn't capture the Holo-effect because the sun was hiding and the weather is quite terrible at the moment( and still is).
As you can see in the pictures, Gr8 is a more yellow-sand based tone, where CDLC is more a light-brown Holo.

I was lazy to write the names down so I took this picture :D
