How about some Maybelline spam?

Maybelline is one of those companies that never sparked my intrest when I walk by their display. I do have some of their old Express Finish polishes from my many swaps back in the day and really love them.
Recently, Maybelline stepped it up a notch and released some polishes that spark my intrest.

First up, Pink Boom. As the name implides, it is a bright bubblegum pink. Maybe not one of my favourite colors but if you’re looking for a bright pink, you’ll find it at the Maybelline counter. Pink Boom was opaque with three coats, had a good formula and brush.

Maybelline ist eine der Firmen, wo ich meist nur daran vorbei gehe, wenn ich in der Drogerie bin. Ich habe ein paar der alten Express Finish Lacke von meinen vielen Tauschpackerl, die ich früher sehr gerne mochte.
Vor kurzem hat Maybelline die Flaschen und Farben neu bearbeitet und es sind einige tolle Farben dabei.

Als erstes Pink Boom. Wie der Name schon sagt, schaut es aus wie ein rosa Kaugummi.  Es ist vielleicht nicht meine Lieblingsfarbe, aber wenn ihr einen pinken Farbton sucht, werdet ihr bei Maybelline fündig. Pink Boom deckt mit drei Schichten, hatte eine gute Konsistenz und auch einen tollen Pinsel.

Superpower Blue. This one is probably my favourite of the bunch. A middle toned teal creme, opaque with two coats(a thick one would’ve been good too) and again, great formula and brush.

Superpower Blue. Eins meiner Lieblinge von den Lacken, die ich heute poste. Ein mittlerer Petrolton mit creme-finish, deckte schon mit zwei Schichten (eine dicke hätte es auch getan) und auch keine Probleme mit der Konsistenz oder dem Pinsel.

Maybelline Orange Fix from the Neon Collection. A limited shade and if you follow me on Instagram, you might’ve seen the display pic. I’ve layered it over white (Milani White on the Spot) on my index and ring finger (two coats)  and on its own on my middle and pinky (three coats). I was still able to see my white tip shinig through in some angles. The creme-jelly hybrid took longer to dry and when I finished taking the pictures, it was still dentable and I was able to wipe almost everything off my nail (though the heat might’ve been the problem). Orange Fix dries to a satin finish. Also, no topcoat on the pictures below.

Auf meinem Zeige,- und Ringfinger habe ich zwei Schichten über Milani White on the Spot, einem weißen Lack aufgetragen. Ohne weißen Unterlack drei Schichten am Mittel,- und kleinen Finger. Letzteres hab ich noch mein Nagelweiß in einigen Winkeln sehen können. Der Creme-Jelly Hybrid brauchte ein wenig länger zum trocknen, was vielleicht an den jetzigen Temperaturen liegen könnte. Orange Fix trocknet ohne Überlack zu einem Satin-Finish und habe auf den Bildern keinen Überlack benutzt.   on the left the pic I took with my camera, on the right, the color accurate (and more neon) picture taken with my phone/links das Bild, was mit meiner Kamera aufgenommen wurde, rechts das Bild, was farbgetreu mit meinem Handy aufgenommen wurde.

And last but not least, a sneak peak to their Polka Dots collection. I was surprised to see the polishes also popping up in the US with a bigger variety (I think around 5 different polishes, where we in Austria only get two). Anyway, I got Speckled Pink to try out. SP is in a sheer pink base packed with black and white hex glitter in two sizes. Opaque in three coats and I would recommend using the dabbing-technique to paint on the hex glitter to avaoid painting on a lot of coats. On its own on my middle finger and pinky, one coat over S-He 467 (discontinued, a pink glass fleck) on my pointer and ringfinger.

Und zu guter Letzt, eine Vorschau auf die kommende Polka Dots Kollektion. Ich war ein wenig überrascht, als ich Bilder davon auf amerikanischen Blogs gesehn hab. Es gibt dort eine größere Auswahl (fünf statt nur zwei Lacken). Ich habe Speckled Pink zugeschicht bekommen. SP ist ein durchsichtiger, pinker Nagellack vollgepackt mit weißen und schwarzen fünfeckigen Glitzer. Er deckte schon mit drei Schichten und ich würde den Lack am besten mit tupfenden Bewegungen lackieren, da man sonst zu viele Schichten braucht. Auf den Bildern unten habe ich drei Schichten Spleckled Pink alleine auf meinem Mittel,- und kleinen Finger benutzt, eine Schicht mit S-He 467 (pinker Glassfleck, leider aus dem Sortiment genommen).

Forced In by Muse or my first gradient

   I have been itching to do a gradient and finally decided to do it. For the gradient I used Illamasqua Force and Muse, both really pretty colors on their own and thought they would make a great gradient pairing. I was wrong and it didn’t turn out like I wanted :(. Pretty nontheless, I just have to use more contrasting colors the next time so it will be more visible than the combination of these two.
I used Force as my base and dabbed on Muse neaby my cuticles with a kitchen sponge. If I remember correctly, I used two coats of Force, the handle of the bottle was a bit weird to hold first but once you get used to it, it’s easier. Force’s color is an electric indigo whereas Muse is a muted middle toned teal.

Eine Gradient Maniküre war schon länger auf meiner Liste von Dingen, die ich unbedingt ausprobieren wollte. Also packte mich dann irgendwann die Motivation und das kam dann raus. Illamasqua Force und Muse schienen ein tolles Paar dafür zu sein, aber es hat dann in meiner Vorstellung dann doch besser ausgeschaut, als es dann tatsächlich war.
Das nächste Mal werde ich dann Farben benutzen, die sich mehr voneinander unterscheiden. Als Grundlack habe ich Force und mit einem Küchenschwamm vorsichtig Muse bei meiner Nagelhaut draufgetupft. Wenn ich mich recht erinner, war Force schon mit zwei Schichten deckend. Der Pinselgriff war anfangs ein wenig komisch zu halten, aber man gewöhnt sich zum Glück schnell daran. Force ist ein Indogoton, Muse ein rauchiger, mittlerer Petrolton.

Quick Post: Comparison between Catrice Be Pool and San Francisco

Catrice released these two polishes a while ago (Be Pool (BP) was part of their renewal-display and the only limited shade, San Francisco (SF) is from their second Big City Life LE). Godfrina hinted that San Francisco might be close to Be Pool which I already have.

Both shades are teal with light green and silver shimmer in some angles you might even see a golden shimmer. The formula of San Francisco was on the thicker side but nothing a (nail polish) thinner can’t fix. Sadly, the shimmer isn’t as visible on the nail- if you prefer it with more shimmer, you might want to dip a brush into nail polish remover, wipe off the excess and then gently wipe a thin layer of polish off it before you put on a topcoat. That way the shimmer will be more visible. I used two coats of BP and SF, no topcoat.

I’ll let the picture speak, how close both of them are :)

Catrice hat vor einiger Zeit diese zwei Lacke rausgebracht (Be Pool war der einzige limitierte Lack bei einer Sortimentsumstellungs-LE, San Francisco ist von der zweiten Big City Life LE). Die liebe Godfrina hat mich auf Twitter angeschrieben, wie ähnlich sich die beiden sind.

Beide Lacke sind ein mittlerer Petrolton mit hellgrünen und silbernen Schimmer. In manchen Winkeln kann man auch teilweise einen goldenen Schimmer erkennen. Die Konsistenz von San Francisco war mir ein wenig zu dickflüssig, aber nichts, was ein Nagellackverdünner wieder in Ordnung bringen kann. Leider ist vom Schimmer am Nagel nicht mehr viel zu sehen, falls ihr aber den Schimmer doch noch sehen wollts, könnts ihr versuchen, einen Pinsel in Nagellackentferner zu tunken, überflüssigen [Nagellackentfern] leicht abwischen und ganz vorsichtig eine dünne Schicht vom Lack zu entfernen, damit man den Schimmer besser sehen kann. Bei beiden Lacken habe ich je zwei Schichten benutzt (auch ohne Überlack).

Muse in Vienna- November 19th 2012

Some of you might know that I’m a huge fan of the band Muse. Fun fact: I named my blog after the pun “We are very amused” :).
So on November 19th they stopped by in Vienna and I was counting down the days on twitter before (not to mention the actual day ;) )*winks at Godfrina, Valerie and Caro* . I had a blast there and I think the lady standing next to me must’ve think I was crazy as I was singing along to all of the songs they performed :D.
I did took a few pictures at the gig but only a few were presentable and not blurry as hell. Also I did take a few videos but the quality/sound isn’t as good as I would like it, so I’ll spare you the horror of listening and watching them ;)

Herere’s the manicure I wore during the concert:
On my left thumb I painted on a mustache for Movember (the bassist, Chris Wolstenholme and Tom Kirk are participating). I stamped on the letters “Muse” with the Konad plates M17& M18 on my other fingers and put on a custom nail decal with their band logo on my right thumb. The base polish is Illamasqua Muse.

Am 19 November war’s soweit, denn da waren sie in Wien für ein Konzert *hust* Godfrina, Valerie und Caro*hust*. Auf Twitter habe ich schon die Tage runter gezählt und konnte es kaum erwarten, sie wieder zu sehn. Es war ein wirklich toller Abend und die Frau, die neben mir stand, hat mich teilweise komisch angeschaut, weil ich zu jedem Lied mitsang :D.
Ich hab ein paar Bilder dort gemacht, aber nur eine Handvoll sind herzeigbar und nicht arg verwackelt. Ein paar Videos habe ich auch aufgenommen, aber das möchte ich euch ersparen ;)

Das hab ich auf meinem Nägeln anlässlich dem Konzert getragen:
Auf meinem linken Daumen hab ich einen Schnauzbart für Movember gezeichnet (der Bassist, Chris Wolstenholme und Tom Kirk machten mit). Ich hab die Buchstaben “Muse” mit der Konadschablone M17 und M18 auf die restlichen vier Finger gestempelt und auf meinem rechten Daumen einen maßgefertigten Nagelsticker vom Bandlogo draufgetan. Der Nagellack, den ich trage, ist Muse von Illamasqua.

Petrol keeps me Running

A while ago I saw on Never too much glitter’s blog that she used a (pressed) eyeshadow for a franken. When Catrice discontinued a few of their eyeshadows, this one was one of them. Getting the eyeshadow back to a powder is quite time consuming if you’re using a small brush, maybe there are other techniques. I wouldn’t recommend using the eyeshadow brush you’re currently using, unless you’d like to wash it a few times to get everything out. I used an old clean-up brush.
Petrol keeps me Running is a medium toned teal with subtle green shimmer. Mixed with the frankenbase it’s a bit darker and the shimmer is more visible. I used two coats.

Vor einiger Zeit hab ich auf dem Blog von Never too much glitter gesehn, dass sie Lidschatten für ein paar ihrer Frankenlacke benutzt. Als Catrice einige der Lidschatten reduziert hat, war das einer davon. Den Lidschatten zurück in Puderform zu bringen war ein wenig zeitintesiv, wenn man einen kleinen Pinsel benutzt. Ich würde keinen Lidschattenpinsel dafür empfehlen, da er dann nur mehr noch schlecht sauber wird, ich habe einen alten Pinsel fürs “clean up” (Borstenpinsel von der Marke Vernissage, Nummer 8) benutzt.
Petrol keeps me Running ist ein mittlerer Petrolton mit subtilem grünen Shimmer. In der Frankenbase ist er ein wenig dünkler und der Shimmer ist in der Flasche gut erkennbar als auf einem Swatch/Aufgetragen am Auge. Für die Bilder hab ich zwei Schichten benutzt.

A glassflecked unnamed Franken

It’s been a while since I showed you one of my frankens. I made this one during a Frankenparty with three lovely ladies(if you read this, you know who you are :-) ) and had lots of fun!
The polish looks divine in the bottle- a teal packed with glassflecks that shifts from magenta to blue. The duochrome effect of the glassflecks was really hard to capture with my camera (I might try to wear it again using the underwater-trick to fotograph).
One of the downside is that I’ve probably put too much pigment in it and only the blue pigment (mixed blue and green together to get the color teal) seems to stay suspended in the base and the rest (green pigment+ glassflecks) sinks to the bottom.
I used two coats and didn’t had any issues.
Do you have any names for it? I haven’t come up with any great ones, maybe you can think of one :).

Es ist schon eine Weile her, seitdem ich euch einen meiner Frankenlacke gezeigt habe. Ich habe diese Lack während einer Frankenparty mit drei besonderen Freundinnen gemischt und hatte eine wirklich tolle Zeit! (falls ihr das lest, fühlt euch angesprochen :-) )
Der Nagellack schaut in der Flasche wunderhübsch aus- ein Petrolton voller Glassflecks, die, je nach Winkel, von Blau zu Magenta changieren. Der Effekt war wirklich schwierig mit meiner Kamera einzufangen.
Eins der Nachteile bei dem Lack ist, dass ich wahrscheinlich zu viel Pigment benutzt habe und nur das blaue Pigment in der Frankenbase sich auflöste, der Rest (grünes Pigment und die Glassflecks) sank zu Boden.
Der namenlose Frankenlack war schon mit zwei Schichten deckend.
Habt ihr Namensvorschläge? Mir sind bis jetzt keine gute Namen eingefallen, vielleicht ändert sich das ja :) .

A Fairytale in Glastonbury

Last year, when I was in Canada during the summer, I came across the very first Gosh counter before it arrived here in Austria a few weeks before I came back .
They (Shoppers Drug Mart) had the (LE) Displays with the Fall Magic Forest 2011 Collection and the only nail polish which I bought was Fairytale. The LE was released here in Austria too, but I can't say that I bought it in Toronto, right? ;)
Anyway, Fairytale is a gorgeous dark teal creme-jelly hybrid. The formula was a tad thick and you need two coats till it is opaque.
As an accent nail I added Nails Inc. Glastonbury on my ring finger. Kaz from Pretty Random described it as "Mardi Gras in a bottle" and I agree with her!
It has little green, round glitter, purple and gold hex-glitter. The application was good and no issues with the brush either. Sadly, Glastonbury is discontinued and no etailer carries it anymore :(


Als ich letzten Sommer in Kanada war, hatte ich zum ersten Mal die Gelegenheit, eine Goshtheke zu betrachten, bevor sie dann auch nach Österreich kam, kurz bevor ich wieder zurück kam.
Sie hatten dort (im Shoppers Drug Mart) hatte auch Aufsteller mit limitierten Editionen- u.a. die Fall Magic Forest 2011 Kollektion. Der einzige Nagellack, der mir gefiel, war Fairytale. Die LE wurde dann auch hier verkauft, aber dann kann ich nicht sagen, dass ich ihn aus Toronto hab, oder? ;)
Fairytale is ein wunderschlner dunkler Petrolton und ein Creme-Jelly Hybrid. Die Konsistenz des Lackes war einen Tick zu dickflüssig und man braucht zwei Schichten, bis er deckt.
Um ein bisschen Abwechslung einzubringen, habe ich noch meinen Ringfinger mit Nails In. Glastonbury bepinselt. Kaz von Pretty Random hat ihn als "Mardi Gras* in der Flasche" bezeichnet und es trifft es ganz gut.
Der Lack hat kleinen runden, grünen Glitzer, lilanen und goldenen Hexglitzer. Der Auftrag war gut und hatte auch keine Probleme mit dem Pinsel. Das einzige Manko ist, dass der Lack schon aufgelassen wurde und kein (Internet)Shop ihn mehr führt :(

I have to say that a part of me bought Glastonbury just because of this ;) /Ich muss zugeben, dass ein Teil von mir den Lack nur wegen dem hier gekauft hat ;)

Cult Nails Awakening and Hypnotize me

Maria has done it again, another two stunning shades by Cult Nails. Awakening is a murky teal , leaning a bit more towards green. It was opaque in two coats and was surprised how glossy it was! The consistency of the polish and the brush were good, nothing to complain here.
I have to admit, at first, I wasn't as impressed with the color on its own but then I pulled out Hypnotize Me and wow, it did make an impact (in a good way).
Hypnotize Me was released in the same collection as Awakening. It is a sheer (micro) glitter polish in a sheer base. On the nail you can only see the blue glitter at first but if you look more closely, you can see the green glitter peeking through and even some purple flashes at some angles. I only used one coat and unlike other glitter polishes, it was as smooth as any other manicure with a creme or jelly finish, which in my book, is a huge plus!


Zwei weitere atemberaubende Lacke von Cult Nails. Awakening ist ein rauchiges Petrol, welches mehr grünstichig ist. Er war schon mit zwei Schichten deckend und ich war wirklich überrascht, wie glänzend er war!
Die Konsistenz und der Pinsel waren gut, wie ich es von Cult Nails gewohnt bin.
Ich muss zugeben, dass ich von Awakening allein nicht so begeistert war, aber als ich dann Hypnotize Me drauflackiert hab, war ich hin und weg.
Hypnotize Me und Awakening sind Teil der Hypnotic Kollektion. Es (Hypnotize Me) ist ein (sehr feiner) Glitzernagellack in einem durchsichtigen Basislack. Auf dem Nagel sieht man auf den ersten Blick nur den blauen Glitzer, aber wenn man genauer hinschaut, sieht man auch den blauen Glitzer und sogar einen Hauch von Lila in manchen Winkeln. Ich hab nur eine Schicht von HM benutzt und die Oberfläche des Lackes ist nach einer Schicht Überlack glatt. Glitzerlacke tendieren ja dazu, dass sie eine Sandpapier-ähnliche Oberfläche haben, egal, wieviele Schichten Überlack man benutzt.

Frankening with Mac Reflects Transparent Teal

While I was in Canada I had the pleasure to go to a Esteè Lauder (warehouse?) sale and they had a lot of other brands which are owned by EL too - for example Origins, MAC and many others (I'm sure Anonymous Beautyholic would've gone nuts over there ;) ). Some of the prices were really good and I couldn't resist getting some things.
While I was at the Mac Pigment table I was looking if they had any intresting shades that I can franken with*. Transparent Teal was amongst some other ones in their old packaging (7g instead of the new ~3,5/4g). I know I cannot use up even one of them if I use them daily till the rest of my life but it was a great bargain (especially considering I got the old pots!).
Anyway, I mixed some Transparent Teal with a sheer black creme polish (instead of just layering). However I wouldn't recomment doing it a second time because the pigment does sink to the bottom and you'll have to shake it up before you use it the next time as there is no suspension base in there.
Transparent Teals base color is teal and is a duochrome which shifts blue and purple depending on the angle you are looking at it. I used one coat of my franken.

Als ich in Kanada war, hatte ich das Glück, eine Einladung zu einem (Lager?) Sale von Esteè Lauder zu sein- es gab dort nicht nur EL sondern auch die Töchterfirmen wie Origins, MAC und viele andere (ich bin mir sicher, dass es das Paradies für Anonymous Beautyholic gewesen wäre ;) ). Die Preise dort waren recht gut und ich konnte mir das eine oder andere Schnäppchen nicht entgehen lassen.
Als ich beim Tisch mit den Mac Pigmenten war, hab ich nach Pigmenten ausschau gehalten, die ich auch fürs selbermischen von Lacken benutzen könnte*. Transparent Teal war einer, den ich u.a. mitgenommen hab und war auch wirklich froh, dass sie dort noch die alten Pigmentgrößen verkauft haben (7g statt den neuen ~3,5-4g). Ich weiß, dass ich das nie im Leben aufbrauchen würd, auch wenn ich mich täglich damit schminken würde, aber ich konnte nicht anders.
Ich hab TT mit einem recht durchsichtigen schwarzen Lack gemischt (statt einem Layering). Aber ich würde es nicht weiterempfehlen, da das Pigment sich am Boden angesetzt hat und man ihn vor dem benutzen immer vorher gut schütteln muss, weil er keine "suspension Base" drinnen hat.
Transparent Teals Grundfarbe ist ein schönes petrol, welches blau,- und lilafarben changiert. Er hat nur eine Schicht gebraucht, bis der Lack deckte.

Another holo Franken

I was really into wearing Frankens lately and this time it's a holo one. It's not as holo as my last ones ( this and this one) tough, still pretty. I tried to franken a dark teal holo but it ended up being not as holo as I want it to be.
Anyway, not sure what I used exactly but pretty sure one of the main polishes was Glam Nails Rainbow. Any blue and green would work for a teal, but you have to be carefull if it gets to opaque and the holographic effect is dulled.
I used two coats over the Aqua Base.


Ich hatte in letzter Zeit öfters die Lust, meine Eigenkreationen zu tragen und dieses mal ists ein Holographischer Lack. Es ist nicht so holographisch wie die letzten ( dieser oder dieser), aber trotzdem noch immer schön. Versucht hab ich, ein dunkles Petrol zu mischen, nur ists nicht so holographisch geworden, wie ichs gerne hätte.
Naja, ich bin mir nicht ganz genau sicher, was ich dafür benutzt habe, aber einer der "Hauptzutaten" war Glam Nails Rainbow. Und jeder Blau- und Grünton würde sich fürs eines Petrols eignen. Nur muss man drauf aufpassen, dass man nicht zu deckednde Lacke/zuviel davon erwischt, weil dann der holographische Effekt dran leidet.
Ich hab zwei Schichten über der Aqua Base.

Fairwind Teal with some stamping

As much as I loved Fairwind Teal, I was itching to do some stamping because my nails were at the lenght where I wouldn't have to double stamp.
For the stamping I used the black Konad Princess polish and OMG (only on my ring finger). The plates I used were M70 and m64(only on my ring finger).

I stumbled upon this polish while I was in the neighbourhood of a "Schlecker" drugstore. Fairwind is a drugstore brand but doesn't have a permanent display and they only put out some Limited Edition Displays out (I heard they also sell them sometimes at the DM drugstore in Germany). And I don't often go to the shop (Schlecker) because it doesn't have the best "atmosphere" there and the ones that are nearest to me, are areas that I don't visit often (anymore- my old highschool, etc.).
Anyway, back to the polish. It's a gorgeous middle-toned teal jelly, leaning more towards blue than green. That was the last bottle in the store and I kinda wish there was another bottle because I would've bought a backup of it in a heartbeat. Another thing that is a huge plus, it was only 99 cents!

Teal covered nicely in three coats and it had a superb formula too. I was in love with this polish and it started my love with jellies too :o.

Ich hab den Lack entdeckt, als ich beim letzten Mal beim Schlecker war. Ich geh wirklich selten zum Schlecker, weil ich keinen in der Nähe hab und dafür extra wo hinzufahren, ist mir zu mühsam, vor allem, weil die auch nicht viel aufregendes haben und die Atmosphäre dort nicht sehr zum einkaufen einlädt.
Nunja, zurück zum Thema. Teal ist ein wunderhübscher blaugrün, der eher blau-lastig ist. Das war auch die letzte Flasche und ich hätte mir sofort eine zweite gekauft, wenn es sie gegeben hätte.Ein weiterer Pluspunkt ist, dass er nur 99 cent gekostet hat :D


Teal war mit drei Schichten deckend und hatte eine schöne Konsistenz zum pinseln. Ich liebe die Farbe wirklich sehr und es ist auch der Lack, der meine Liebe zu Jelly-Lacken entfachte.

A little twist on Color Clubs Untamed Luxury

I loved how Untamed Luxury looked on the swatches I've seen. So I decided to get myself a bottle and after seeing it in person, I gotto say, I'm dissapointed. The color is a green with more of a blue hue. So I decided to franken with it. I dumped about 1/4th into an empty bottle and added a medium blue. The result was much better than the original version.

I used two coats of my franken and didn't had any problems with the application or the brush.

Ich war nach all den vielen Swatches, die ich im Internet gesehen hab, gleich in Untamed Luxury verliebt. Also hab ich ihn dann letzendlich im Internet bestellt und als ich ihn dann in den Händen hielt, war ich enttäuscht. Die eigentliche Farbe ist ein Grün mit einem Hauch von Blau. Also beschloss ich, die Farbe ein bisschen aufzupeppen und mit ihm zu "franken". Ich hab ca. ein Viertel davon weggeschüttet (in eine Leere Flasche) und hab angefangen, langsam einen Mittelblauen Lack reintuzun. Das Ergebniss war viel besser als das Original.


Er brauchte nur zwei Schichten, bis er deckte und hab keinerlei Probleme mit dem Auftrag oder dem Pinsel gehabt.

Als ich den Lack trug, hatte ich noch immer einen Nagel, wo ich Nagelkleber draufhatte (zwecks "Reperatur" weil sie zu der Zeit sehr zickig und sehr leicht abgebrochen sind). Also zeigt das Bild wie das die Farbe des Lackes beeinflusst:

How a simple basecoat can change your life

or the way you look at a polish ;). Some of you might wonder what todays title means. Well, it's about holos and a very very special base coat, one that makes the application as smooth as a Smoothie and streaky polishes opaque in two coats.
I'm talking about Nfu.Ohs Aqua Base/ Goshs Fix Base/ Make Up Stores Fix Base (i think thats what they call it, but I could be wrong). As I wrote before, it makes holo polishes a lot more fun, making the application a breeze, I'll get a longer wear and even makes a holo more holographic :o. Who'd pass up on that chance?

Long story short, I used the Aqua Base under the China Glaze Tronicas and boy, it was still is mindblowing. I know some might moan that the Tronicas aren't as prismatic as they expected and I was fully aware of that but I'm a holo-whore so I couldn't just pass on them even tough it was harder to get them.
The two I've used for my manicure are High Def and Techno Teal. HD is a gorgeous dark blue and in the bottle you'll only see a very sparse holo-effect and that'll only show on the bottle in direct sunlight. Painted over the AB and add sunlight *please imagine my head exploding because I didn't expect it at all!*- a rainbow on your nails. The same story with Techno Teal.
Ok, I'm not gonna bore you with more of my love letter to whoever invented the AQ, just that the application of both polishes were rather thick and opaque in two coats.

Urban Oasis with a Spectrum

Here's another layering-mani I did. This time with CND Urban Oasis, a one coat wonder and Sally Hansen Spectrum, which I got in a swap with the lovely BeautyJudy. I used one coat of each polish and both have a great formula and brush. Spectrum is a Turquoise glass fleck polish with purple and blue duo-chrome.
