Quick Post: Comparison between Catrice Be Pool and San Francisco

Catrice released these two polishes a while ago (Be Pool (BP) was part of their renewal-display and the only limited shade, San Francisco (SF) is from their second Big City Life LE). Godfrina hinted that San Francisco might be close to Be Pool which I already have.

Both shades are teal with light green and silver shimmer in some angles you might even see a golden shimmer. The formula of San Francisco was on the thicker side but nothing a (nail polish) thinner can’t fix. Sadly, the shimmer isn’t as visible on the nail- if you prefer it with more shimmer, you might want to dip a brush into nail polish remover, wipe off the excess and then gently wipe a thin layer of polish off it before you put on a topcoat. That way the shimmer will be more visible. I used two coats of BP and SF, no topcoat.

Catrice hat vor einiger Zeit diese zwei Lacke rausgebracht (Be Pool war der einzige limitierte Lack bei einer Sortimentsumstellungs-LE, San Francisco ist von der zweiten Big City Life LE). Die liebe Godfrina hat mich auf Twitter angeschrieben, wie ähnlich sich die beiden sind.

Beide Lacke sind ein mittlerer Petrolton mit hellgrünen und silbernen Schimmer. In manchen Winkeln kann man auch teilweise einen goldenen Schimmer erkennen. Die Konsistenz von San Francisco war mir ein wenig zu dickflüssig, aber nichts, was ein Nagellackverdünner wieder in Ordnung bringen kann. Leider ist vom Schimmer am Nagel nicht mehr viel zu sehen, falls ihr aber den Schimmer doch noch sehen wollts, könnts ihr versuchen, einen Pinsel in Nagellackentferner zu tunken, überflüssigen [Nagellackentfern] leicht abwischen und ganz vorsichtig eine dünne Schicht vom Lack zu entfernen, damit man den Schimmer besser sehen kann. Bei beiden Lacken habe ich je zwei Schichten benutzt (auch ohne Überlack).

Ich hoffe, euch gefällt ein weiter Teil von einem kleinen "Nail Spam". [der Wortwitz, den ich im Englischen eingebaut hat, klingt nur halb, wenn nicht sogar unlustig- deshalb hab ichs gelassen ;) ]

Catherine Arley 667- a middle toned grey holo. 3 coats, used the Aqua Base as my basecoat nevertheless didn't wear that well :( 

Catherine Arley 667- ein mittlerer Grauton. Er ist holographisch und braucht 3 Schichten bis er deckt. Als Unterlack hab ich die Aqua Base benutzt, aber trotzdem war die Haltbarkeit nicht die Beste :( 

S-He Stylezone 314- a forest green with a hint of blue. I believe this was two coats. Gorgeous green, tough a pity that it might've been part of a limited edition.

S-He Stylezone 314- ein Forstgrün mit einem Hauch Blau. Ich glaube, dass es auf dem Bild zwei Schichten sind. Ein wunderschönes Grün, finde es schade, dass es ihn warscheinlich nicht mehr im Laden gibt.

Cult Nails Toxic Seaweed- gorgeous green jelly packed with flakies and gold glitter. Sadly, discontinued. Two coats- the consistency was a tad thick but still managable.

Cult Nails Toxic Seaweed- bezaubernder grüner Jelly voller Flakies und goldenem glitzer. Leider nicht mehr im Sortiment :( . Braucht zwei Schichten und die Konsistenz war ein wenig zu dickflüssig, aber noch immer gut lackierbar.

Benecos Deep Blue (Urban Nature LE) - deep blackened blue creme jelly hybrid. Two coats, but had a thick consistency. Golden Rose 02 on my ring finger as an accent, packed with blue and "Hidden Treasure" flakies.

Benecos Deep Blue (Urban Nature LE - ein dunkler, fast schwarzes Blau. Eine Mischung aus vom creme,- und jellyfinish. Deckt mit zwei Schichten, aber leider recht dickflüssig. Am Ringfinger hab ich Golden Rose 02 benutzt, ein blauer und "Hidden Treasure" Flakielack.

Nfu.Oh 569 A Nars Zulu dupe (or at least really close) 3 coats. A really squishy dark green forest jelly.

Nfu.Oh 569 Ein Nars Zulu Dupe (oder ein sehr naher Verwandter). 3 Schichten vom wunderschönen dunkelgrünen Jelly

Del Sol Rockstar: supposedly changes its color when it's exposed to sun(UV) light. No matter how long I stuck my hand out, it didn't change it :(. 3 coats of this blue jelly packed with silver glitter.

Del Sol Rockstar: ein Lack, der im Sonnen(UV-)licht seine Farbe ändert. Egal wie lang ich meine Nägel in die Sonne hielt, blieb unverändert :(. 3 Schichten für den blauen jelly Lack vollgepackt mit silbernem Glitzer

Butter London Disco Biscuit: a gorgeous pink jelly packed with purple and blue shimmer (the picture on the left corner is the most accurate color wise). One coat on my middle finger(left), two on my index (right). Layered over Cult Nails Time Traveler.
Butter London Disco Biscuit: ein wunderschöner pinker Jelly voller lilanem und blauem Shimmer (das Bild links unten ist am nähesten an der eigentlichen Farbe). Eine Schicht am Mittelfinger (linker Finger), zwei auf meinem Zeigefinger (rechts). Grundlack ist Cult Nails Time Traveler.

And last but not least, two nail polishes by Catrice from their Million Style LE. One of the ones I also wanted was out of stock everywhere, guess I have to live with that ;)  Both one coat over a black creme
Anyway- Godfather of Pearl on my pointer and ringfinger. Gorgeous glass fleck which also happen to be duo/multi chrome (blue, silver and purple). And I kinda like the new brushes, only thing I wasn't so keen about was that the bottleopening was only a few mm bigger which makes me feel like I'm playing Tetris and am running out of space for new tiles.
¿Holo qué Tal?!: a magenta and purple duochrome, somewhat boarderline glassfleck and shimmer (glassflimmer? glimmer? shleck?). The shifting reminds me a bit of the CND Effects, which I love.

Und zu guter Letzt, zwei Catrice Nagellacke von der Million Styles LE. Ich wollte noch einen weiteren aus der LE haben, aber es hätt einfach nicht sein sollen ;)
Godfather of Pearl auf meinem Zeige,- und Ringfinger. Wunderhübscher duo/multichrome Glassfleck in blau, silber und lila. Der neue Pinsel ist toll, nur ists schwierig ihn wieder reinzubekommen, weil die Öffnung nur einige mm größer als der Pinsel ist und es zu einer futzlarbeit wird.
¿Holo qué Tal?!: ein magenta und lilaner duochrome, ein Zwischending von einem Glassfleck und Schimmer. Die Farbkombination erinnert mich ein wenig an die CND Effects, welche ich liebe (und leider zu selten trage).

How about some spam?

Who doesn't like some nail spam? Well, I always enjoy looking through them and hope you'll enjoy it too :)

Ich mag es ab-und-zu, sogenannte "Nail Spam"- Beiträge (seis auf Blogs oder in Foren) durchzuschauen und hoffe, dass es euch gefällt :)

Catrice Be Pool, not an extradordinary color, so won't be that sad as it is a limited Edition (2 coats)
Catrice Be Pool, mMn keine sehr außergewöhnliche Farbe, also bin ich nicht sehr traurig drüber, da es eine limierte Farbe ist (auf dem Bild sinds 2 Schichten)

A "Frankenfail" it started crackling while it dried :( (as seen on my ringfinger). Used  a matte topcoat and a gorgeous cobalt blue pigment, I believe this was 2 coats
Ein missglückter Franken (selbsgemischter Lack). Er hat aufeinmal angefangen sich wie ein Crackle-Lack zu "teilen" (siehe Ringfinger). Hab dafür einen schönes Kobaltblaues Pigment in einem matten Überlack gemischt, sind glaub ich 2 Schichten.

Basic Bankok: a medium-toned green, a little bit more leaning towards blue in person, 1 coat
Basic Bankok: ein mittleres Grün, ist aber in echt ein wenig mehr blaustichig, 1 Schicht

Tetris Nails: I used Nail Art Pens in sharpie-form from Essence and P2 (the ones by P2 are discontinued by now :( ) and the green, yellow and red stamping polishes by Konad.
Tetris Nägel: Ich hab die Nail Art Pens von Essence und P2 benutzt (die von P2 wurden leider aus dem Sortiment genommen :( ) und die Konad Stampinglacke in Grün, Rot und Gelb.

New displays I stumbled upon

Here some new displays I stumbled upon- sorry about the quality of the pictures, I forgot my camera at home and only had my cell-phone with me.

First up, the Glam Session limited edition by Alessandro. I didn't found any press-material about it but I knew this was a new LE coming out because I saw some pictures of it on Candy Glaze's blog.

Hier ein paar Displays von limitierten Editionen, die ich in letzter Zeit gesehn hab- es tut mir leid wegen der Qualität der Bilder, ich hab meine Kamera vergessen und hatte nur mein Handy mit.


Die Glam Session LE von Alessandro war mir noch recht unbekannt, bis ich die Bilder vom Display auf Candy Glaze's Blog sah. Es gab davor keine Presse-Mittelung(en) oder sonstiges- bis vor wenigen Tagen es dann endlich eine rausgekommen ist, als ich dannach bei der berühmten Suchmanschine gesucht hab. 

Next up, the Las Vegas LE by Catrice. The last LE (Big City Life) caused quite some fuzz- it came out about a month after it's supposed to. Only a bunch of shops who have a Catrice counter were going to get the LE (a list was posted by a german blogger, not to mention most displays which were put out are probably empty).
Anyway, the Las Vegas LE is quite glittery- there's a highlighter spray (gold shimmer), but the polishes didn't wow me so I left without buying anything.
Sadly, I was to late and the display was almost empty, but it will be released at out local DM drugstores, so I'll show you a picture with a full display when I see it.

Als nächstes die Las Vegas LE von Catrice. Die letzte LE(Big City Life) hat ja schon einiges an negativen Eindrücken hinterlassen- sie wurde ca. einen ganzen Monat später als angekündigt rausgestellt bzw. verkauft. Nur eine handvoll Läden haben diese LE überhaupt bekommen (es wurde eine Liste von einer deutschen Bloggerin gepostet, aber ich bezweifle, dass die angegeben Läden überhaupt noch etwas haben).
 Nunja, die Las Vegas LE ist ziemlich glitzrig- aber ich hab im Endeffekt nichts mitgenommen, weil nichts in mein Beuteschema passte. Leider war ich ein bisschen zu spät dran, als ich das Display entdeckte und es war schon fast leer, aber es wird auch im DM erhältlich sein und ich werd die Bilder vom vollen Display nachreichen.

Recent Displays

I stumbled upon some new displays and I thought I'd share them with you guys:

First up, two Alessandro Limited Editions:

Ich hab in der letzten Zeit folgende Displays gesehn und sie für euch fotographiert:

Zuallererst, zwei Alessandro Aufsteller:

On the left side we have a Moon Manicure set- in my opinion it's way to much money for something you can basicly do without paying that much money. Here is a great tutorial from nihrida .
On the right side I found the new Croco Glam- Set. I think the SA put the wrong price tag in because when I went to another Müller store which had the same display, it only costs €14,95. It's a diffenrent type of a crackle polish but I have enough crackle polishes at the moment and didn't even pick it up during their -25% off make-up products.

Auf der linken Seite ist es ein Moon Manicure Set- meiner Meinung nach ist es viel zu überteuert, dafür, dass man es auch selber einfach nachmachen kann. Hier gibts eine tolle (englische) Anleitung von nihrida. 
Rechts ist es das Croco Glam-Set. Ich vermute, dass die VerkäferIn einen Druckfehler beim Preisschild hat- ich war kurz dannach noch bei einem anderen Müller, der das gleiche Set für nur €14,95 hatte. Es ist eine andere Art von Crackle-Lacken, aber da ich mehr als genug Crackle-Lacke daheim hab, hab ich nichts gekauft, obwohl es zu der Zeit -25% auf Make-up beim Müller gab.

After a long search I finally found the Catrice Big City Life LE display. They were suppose to release it at the beginning of this month but I guess there were some difficulties somewhere that they had to beginn shipping late.
Nach der langen Warterei und Suche hab ich nun endlich die Catrice Big City Life LE gesichtet. Sie sollte es eigentlich schon anfang des Montas geben, aber ich glaube, dass es ein paar Probleme irgendwo auf dem Weg gab, weshalb sie so spät erst ausgeliefert wurde.

I wanted to buy all of it because of the name of the cities (New York, Berlin, London and Sydney) because I've been to all but one- London. But my conscience and my wallet convinced me otherwise and I "only" got the NYC palette and the NYC nail polish- they even printed the skyline from the cities on the nail polish bottles!
And here's a close-up of the display:

Ich wollte zuerst alles wegen den Namen (New York, Berlin, London und Sydney) kaufen, weil ich schon in allen der genannten Städte war, bis auf London.  Mein Gewissen und mein Geldbörserl haben aber dann doch gesiegt und ich hab "nur" die NYC Palette und den NYC Nagellack gekauft. Sie haben sogar die Skyline von den jeweiligen Städten auf die Nagellackflaschen gedruckt!

So here are two new displays I recently saw, first up, the new Alessandro display:

Hier ein paar Bilder von den neuen Sachen, die ich in der letzten Zeit gesehn hab:

What I like about it, is that the display looks nice and clean, a lot of "safe" colors (aka red, neutrals& pinks). And the downside (in my opinion): they put the handle into the display but if there are people out there who test the polish first, then don't screw the lid on right, I can see this will be a mess (polish everywhere on the display, etc.).

Was ich daran mag, ist, dass es wirklich schön ordentlich und "sauber"(im Sinne von hochwertig) ausschaut, aber dennoch ein Haufen Farben dabei sind, die es en masse überrall gibt (Rottöne, Pinke Lacke und Neutrale Farben).
Aber einen Nachteil hats meiner Meinung nach: man steckt den Stiel der Flasche ind die "Löcher" rein. Es wird dann warscheinlich Menschen geben, die, wenn sie den Nagellack testen, den Deckel nicht gescheit zuschrauben und dann einfach so zurücklegen, was eine Schweinerei ergibt (Nagellack überall, wo man sichs nur vorstellen kann).

And the new Catrice Limited Edition, called "Out of Space". Not sure what to think of this LE, it just doesn't fit to the season (a LE with mostly dark colors in summer- hmmm).

Und zu guter letzt die neue limitierte Edition von Catrice, "Out of Space". Ich bin mir noch nicht ganz sicher, was ich davon halten soll, sie passt nicht ganz zur Jahreszeit (eine LE mit meist dunklen Farben im Sommer-hmm)

The new Catrice display, an Essence LE and a blast from the past

I found the new Catrice display today and was really excited to see the new things they've released. They've re-arranged their whole display and to me it looks more well arranged than it was.

I heard that there were different versions of their polish called Run Forest Run!, so I found these two

Yeah, the two different versions of RFR!- on the left, the old version, the new one on the right. I get it that some batches might have very slight differences, but turning a dark green into a light green (which now looks a lot like Sold Out Forever now)
And while I was at the store who also has the bigger Essence display, I saw their new LE

I only got the blue/blurple polish and the lighter color changing lipgloss, the rest was kinda meh to me.
They also had part of the new nail-art-stickers

And lastly, here's a little blast from the past. While I was cleaning out my stash  for my blog sale (btw. there's still plenty left ;)) I found this:

These are the "silk" wraps before they've actually released the ones made out of fabric. The nail repair pads are made out of plastic and have a lot in common with clear labelling stickers. I'm not sure when exactly I got them, it was around 2006, but I'm not completly sure.

I can still remember trying 3 or 4 of these and thinking that these were a complete waste of money because they are wrinkle-city and can be peeled off in a few hours after applying them.
And here's the actuall wraps- it's hard to photograph, but I think you get the idea.

Two LE displays and a little haul

Hey there :)

I found those two displays recently before New Years Eve but didn't got around posting it. Essence's Blaock and White Limited Edition is all about black and white. The things didn't wow me that much and I doubted that the high-anticipated "holo-topcoat" was really one . And it really wasn't a holo-topcoat, more of a layering duo-chrome.

 Next up is Catrice's Urban Baroque Limited Edition. The colors didn't wow me so I didn't  buy anything. I was tempted to buy the Illuminating powder but only buying it because of the packaging isn't that good.

And a little haul- I found some of the new Essence Image Plates (which will replace the old ones). One individual one and one which was in the stampy set. Oh and a Minnie-Mouse polish (I would love if they'd do some with Daisy or Donald Duck because I love them) There was pink/nude-ish color too but my stash storage is about to explode so I only bought the red one.

H&M swatches spam and comparisons

So today I'll show you a lot of swatches- first up, My Favourite Jeans.

It's a dark blue semi-foil with glass flecks. I used three coats. I quite like it but the formula was a bit weird.

Moonless Night- a black with dark silver shimmer. It's one of those where you only see the shimmer in direct sunlight, so it was harder to photograph. It tooke me two coats to reach opacity.

Here one with flash and after swatching it, I had something similar in my stash, Catrice Back to Black, so I did this comparison:

The same "hidden" shimmer in the bottle, let's see what the flash pic has to reveal:

Yep, definitly dupes- Back to Black was almost opaque in one coat, but you'll get better results with two, which I used for the pictures.

Fashionista- a vibrant purple, almost a frost finish

Imagine it a bit less blue. It also dried really quickly, probably the the fastest of the bunch. It took me two coats to be opaque.

Next up, Godess on Stage.

Godess on Stage is a dark eggplant purple, which sadly, is a lot darker on the nail than in the bottle.I really love the shimmer in the bottle which can probably only be seen in direct sunlight. In lower lights this one surely will look almost-black but I don't think it's a big issue because I know how beautiful it can be in sunlight :)

Now, some lighter shaades....

U must have this- A gorgeous blue creme, two coats to reach opacity.

Next- a comparison: Essence The World's Coolest, Orly Gumdrop, H&M Bellas Choice and Artdeco #93

The World's Coolest was a bit watery, almost jelly-like formula. I used three coats.
Gumdrop was almost opaque in one coat, it is a bit "dustier" than all the other polishes in this comparison.
Bellas Choice is the greenest/most turquoise one, it was almost opaque in one coat.
Artdeco #93 is the bluest of the bunch and was like Gumdrop& BC almost opaque in one coat.

And now the last comparison, betwen Essie Mesmerize, H&M Blue my Mind and P2 Gigantic

Mesmerize is, not like his name, the darkest one. I was quite dissapointed in it because when I first saw the swatches, it was brighter and had a neon-touch in it. On the nail& in the bottle? Not so much. I used two coats.
Blue my Mind- a beautiful creme blue. The formula was ok and  took two coats to be opaque.
Gigantic is what I imagined, Mesmerize would be- a bright, azure blue. It's my favourite in this comparison and took only two coats to be opaque.
