I thought HGiC was a bit boring on its own so I experimented a bit with a Crackle Glaze that China Glaze recently released. Fault Line is a purple crackle and some might not like it as much as the others because the crackle-pattern isn't as "good" as the others.
Anyway, I didn't paint it the way I usually do, instead of vertical brushstrokes, I did diagonal ones, forming an "X". It turned out pretty good, not the usual pattern and might experiment more with it in the future.
And a picture of my right thumb, I really liked how this one turned out.

Claire's Matte Cobalt, Furta-Cor and Crackle
I bought Claire's Matte Cobalt from Chris' blog sale. It is a gorgeous cobalt blue which, as the name implides, dries matte. The application was a bit tricky because the first coat was somewhat patchy and the formula was rather thick. However the second coat evened everything out. A third coat gives it a little depth and darkens the color a bit more.
Matte Cobalt was a bit boring on its own (matte and glossy) so I decided to add a sheer sparkle topcoat for an accent nail and grabbed Maybelline Furta-Cor which I got in a swap with Sarah from Them Pretty Colors. It doesn't look like much in the bottle but it shifts from blue, green and purple, absolutly stunning!
If that wasn't enough, I finally added a thick coat of P2s silver crackle polish, Silver Blast.

Cracked Steel Me
You might remember this post, where I've swatched (almost) the whole collection on nail tips. Steel Me was the one which appealed to me most so I finally painted it on my nails. I used the alessandro magnet to "make" the pattern but it didn't turn out very well, probably because my nails are quite curved. Another thing is that I was underwhelmed (probably because of the almost non-excisting patterns).
I painted an accent nail with L'oreals Star Magnet in Magnetic Prune- I used one coat each and because I didn't like it as much as I tought I would, I decided to take out Isadora's Spraycan Blue, the blue crackle polish.
and here it is with a thick coat of Spraycan Blue
and the glossy version with a topcoat
Some of you might've noticed it, but I've made a facebook page but always forgot to mention it here-

Some recent displays and a paradoxal fever
Hey there :)
I recently spotted a few new or new to me displays and tought that I'd share them with you.
First up, the new Alessandro crackle polishes called "Royal Crash". Yeah, you've seen right, Alessandro jumped on the Crackle-wagon and I somehow have the feeling there are a lot of companies out there who got those. The set contains a base color (gold or silver, a black crackle and a topcoat, all for ~15€)
Last, but not least, two Artdeco displays- a huge one called Color Masterpiece and one containing another (Chanel) dupe (called Mystery Collection).
I really liked #123 and #127 but having a lot of blues and purples I might have dupes or similar shades (plus I didn't want to spend that much if I have something similar in my stash already).
I mentioned the "paradoxal fever" in my title- let's take a closer look to Artdeco #145 of their Mystery Collection:
I took the Chanel Paradoxal testerbottle and compared it to Artdeco #145. I couldn't tell a difference between the two.

Next up, two other Alessandro displays, one from their new Dark Secret LE and an (maybe) older one called Hypnotic (looks like a Chanel Particulière dupe to me ;) )

P2 Crackle Polishes and a comparison with Isadora and BYS
Hey there :)
P2 recently released two crackle polishes and I *had* to have them. There are only two colors (so far) and I hope that they're going to release new colors because unfortunatly the Isadora ones are quite expensive compared to P2( ~2€ vs 9€ or ~2,6$ vs ~11,7$).
I first layered them over my excisting manicure (Orly Wild Wisteria& Prisma Gloss Silver).
from left to right: P2 Silver Blast, P2 Black Explosion, Isadora Black Tag and BYS Black Crackle.
The effect isn't very obvious my nails except my pinky and sadly, the BYS didn't crack like the others, it had a cracked surface but the base-color wasn't shining through and my nail remained black.
Now, let's see how the colors look over a lighter base color, in this case P2 elegant (a 2 coater).

To me, P2 and Isadora look the same, tough the crackle-pattern varies how thick/thin you paint it. I tried to paint about the same amount of polish on all nails but due to the different brushes* it was quite hard. You can also see the pattern of the BYS crackle polishes I described before: they have a crackle-like surface but the base-color doesn't peek through. It's quite unique and I've never seen such a pattern before.
*P2 and BYS had quite skinny/average sized brushes, whereas Isadora had a wide brush about the same size of the OPI Pro Wide only a bit more brush-hair.
All in all I like the P2 crackling polishes. Due to the price they are definitly a steal and I really hope P2 comes out with more colors.

A Franken and crackles
Hey there :)
Today's just a quick post. I recently saw some swatches of Models Own Disco Mix and thought that it was quite easy to franken my own so I did. I used an unnamed blue glitter from Claire's (the ones they sell here are all unnamed :( ) and the pink glitter from my swap with the sweet Jackie from Candy Coated Tips.
I couldn't let it alone so I layered a thick coat of Isadora White Art over it.
I'd recommend you to click on the pic to enlarge it to see the glitter better :)

Isadora Crackle Polishes- Part 2
Hey there :)
You'd probably know from this post, that I was really thrilled that we are finally getting Crackle polishes here. And today I found them- I felt like I stuck gold or something similar :P
So, these are the ones I got:
While I was at the store, I couldn't resist to use the tester they had and I left with two these two nails painted with Yellow Crew (pointer) and Spraycan Blue (thumb). Sadly, the blue one darkened on the nail or it may be my base color, I need to experiment with them.
They were 8,9€ each (ok-ish prices, middle price range).

Isadora Crackle Polishes- FINALLY
Hey there :)
I saw this post at Negglelakkmani a few days ago and was so excited that a European company, Isadora decided to release Crackle polishes. I wrote Isadora through their "Contact us"- email adress and got the response that they'll be available next week :D. I really feel like a happy camper and do I have to say what I'll be doing first thing on Monday morning? ^^
There'll be six colors, black, yellow, white, green, pink and blue.
So, if you'll see a crazy woman at 9am on Monday morning, it'll probably be me ;)
Edit: I saw a blogpost with swatches, click here.
It also seems that Austria seems to get the Isadora Limited Editions one month after they've released them in Germany :(
